Distracting Players

Do you ever have that itch? The itch to wager, to head to the nearest gambling house, to find a great stakes casino game of Texas holdem, to sit at a Black-jack table for hours on end. I love that itch. And I really like to scratch it.
I also like to watch men and women bet. No two poker faces seem equal. When I gamble I like to believe I put on a poker face which is impassable. But I know I’ve particular mannerisms. For one, the only time I smoke cigarettes is when I wager on poker or Blackjack. And then I smoke. Except I smoke whether or not I am succeeding or losing, regardless of whether I’ve a good hand or bad.
I once played within a weekly poker game. The casino game was generally five card draw. There was a guy who bet with us just about every week who often wore a hat. When he was given a excellent hand, subconsciously, he would start touching and betting with his hat. Needless to say, he by no means won.
The very best poker player I ever saw was a gentleman who produced more actions and signals at a poker table than anyone I had ever seen. He was impressive in the way he dressed. Usually an high priced suit and tie, footwear shined and nails trimmed. He was fastidious in this manner. And he was generally brushing his pant leg or rubbings his hands or stacking his chips in tidy little piles.
I use to analyze him for hours. I would tried to see if I could notice his tell. Selecting lint off his shirt- did this imply he was bluffing? Stacking his chips within a short pile – did this imply he had a beneficial hand?
Years later I bumped into him in a bar in Chi town and we had a drink. I asked him if he were aware of all those motions he produced or if they were unconscious. He informed me that just about every little thing he did at a poker table was deliberate. He said that everyone is generally checking out everybody else’s poker face. They’re trying to spot the the tell.
So his system was to provide them lots to believe about. His thinking was if they were thinking about him selecting a piece of lint off his shirt and what it meant they positive were not thinking about their cards.
His technique was diversion. And it worked for him. In no way give up a technique that works for you.
