Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with old origins. Built on the ancient Chinese tile game and the current American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker bands together the eastern with the wild west in a fantastic game for starting gamblers.

Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the gambler against the croupier, unlike the majority of other poker games that players play with other players. By wagering against the dealer, new players do not need to worry about other, more advanced gamblers taking their moolla.

Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the regular 52-card basic deck and one joker. The gambler is given seven cards face up and the croupier is given seven cards face down.

One five card hand and a two card hand need to be put together from the seven cards dealt, the five card hand has to be higher than the two card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand totals to be better than the casino’s.
