Online poker has become world celebrated lately, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game shows. The games popularity, though, arcs back in fact a bit further than its television scores. Over the years numerous variants on the earliest poker game have been created, including a handful of games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to 21 than old guard poker, in that the gamblers wager against the casino instead of each other. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is little concealment or different types of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up just before the dealer declares "No further wagers." At that point, both you and the dealer and of course every one of the other gamblers attain five cards each. Once you have looked at your hand and the casino’s first card, you have to either make a call bet or bow out. The call wager’s value is akin to your original ante, which means that the risks will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your wager goes instantaneously to the casino. After the bet comes the face off. If the bank does not have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, with an amount on par with the ante. If the dealer does have ace/king or better, you win if your hand is greater than the bank’s hand. The bank pony’s up cash equal to your original bet and fixed odds on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • three to one for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
