Internet poker has become globally famous as of late, with televised championships and celebrity poker game events. The games universal appeal, though, stretches back in reality a bit farther than its television scores. Over the years numerous types on the earliest poker game have been created, including some games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of the above-mentioned games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with blackjack than traditional poker, in that the players wager against the dealer instead of each other. The winning hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is no conniving or other kinds of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up before the croupier announcing "No further wagers." At that moment, both you and the house and of course all of the other players attain 5 cards. After you have seen your hand and the casino’s 1st card, you have to in turn make a call bet or surrender. The call bet’s value is akin to your original bet, indicating that the stakes will have doubled. Giving Up means that your wager goes instantaneously to the dealer. After the wager is the showdown. If the dealer does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is given back, with a figure equal to the original wager. If the house has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand beats the casino’s hand. The dealer pays out money equal to your ante and fixed odds on your call wager. These odds are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for 2 pairs
- three to one for 3 of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- 7-1 for a full house
- 20-1 for a four of a kind
- fifty to one for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
