NL Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker competitor on the planet by most of the top-ranked pros. He was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa taught him penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wished to learn everything he possibly could about the game. He would tell his grandparents that he was going to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the detrimental feedback from other people destroy his goal of being one of the best poker players in the world.

Phil began playing intently after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his abilities at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for him were a teaching period and coming away with a win wasn’t a normal outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 WSOP when he achieved two final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the last table he destroyed a number of the better known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He made a decision to take his game to the next level and moved out west to Vegas. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players in the world. Phil credits his success to discipline and an undying passion for poker. He says that he’s learning every single day and is quite humble about his success. Phil admits to making blunders every single game of poker and always strives to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big tournaments, he likes winning money games on a regular basis.
